This was the third time we stayed here and it always gets better. The current owners took over a few years ago and continue to improve the campground. There is a creek that runs through the entire campground and each site is along the creek. You can float from the north end of the campground to the south which takes about 30 minutes. All sites are good and you can tell that they go through and try to get them level every season. Every weekend they have a new theme for activities. This recent weekend was a carnival where they had carnival games, a dunk tank, and cotton candy. They also had a paint night on Saturday. Power at the site was good and they had water hookups as well. No cell service there, but they do have WiFi. You need to be fairly close to the office to get the signal though so if you need it then stay in a site around the office. They also just put in a very nice playground and a few Yurts.

After avoiding a kid on a motorcross bike, I entered my site to find there would be no way to open my slide. Too tight a fit with the overgrown trees. I immediately stepped out into dog mess Thought it might be random, but discovered several dogs just wandering the campground ... poop as you please. Decided to stick it out, no refund policy. The bathhhouse YIKES don't think cleaned ever! The campground does have a new playground, but have let the rest just go to crap. I would not stay here again.

This is a horror of a campground. Let's start with the tubing. There is no fishing were there is tubing, so much for Alaska wilderness. Parents do you know where your kids are? People do you know where your dog is? Toilet paper in woods, understandable, bathhouse is a disgrace, ever hear of cleaning it? Birds got into the trash, don't clean it up, it's no worse than the stink from the dump station. Maybe have it pumped? Loud, dirty, sad really.

This is how I grew up camping. Sites are spread out and have trees and bushes, unlike many Alaskan campgrounds. This one has a stream or small river that meanders through and almost every site is right on the water. When I visited, the water was flowing pretty quickly, which could be a deterrent to those with small children or animals. I had read that visitors can tube the river from entrance to exit, then repeat. Many campgrounds in Alaska are either like a parking lot with marked spaces and hookups, or are wooded with no conveniences. This one has both. Dump site on premises. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site. About 3/4 mile off AK 1. $39 for 30 Amp, $49 for 50 Amp. Helpful friendly staff. GS discount.
