This computer graphic is situated uncomfortably near the highway, though the reduction in coal trucks is a relief. This problem is widespread in the Red River Gorge area, with Lago Linda CG being a potential exception. We lodged there during the final fortnight of April, which was rather cold. I was relieved not to rely on the CG shower, given its lukewarm temperature and the persistent draft. Only a single CG host was present, and they were falling behind on bathroom maintenance. The showers received periodic cleaning, but the floors were neglected. It was bustling during the weekends, yet deserted for the rest of the week. The hiking paths were satisfactory. Numerous fallen trees were present, necessitating a saw for those wishing to gather their own firewood. Our 30-foot fifth wheel would have only fit into a select few spots. The campground is primarily designed for tents.

We reached our destination and were lucky to find one of the limited spots with flat parking. The fee we paid was the peak season rate, although the restrooms were still closed. We might have been able to pay the off-season rate considering we only had access to pit toilets, but we managed. It was a bonus to be in proximity to the Natural Bridge for trekking. The temperature dropped to the low 20s, so we were thankful for the bonfire that helped us stay warm throughout the night.

The locations are primarily designed for camping tents and are excellent for this use. We were traveling in a van, and as it was February, we had the entire area to ourselves, managing to secure one of the limited spots that were flat and extended. If you're traveling in an RV or a mobile caravan, don't expect to easily find a spot that accommodates your size. The camping area provides immediate entry to some pleasant trekking paths. The major disadvantage is its proximity to a busy road, where you can hear all the traffic, particularly when vehicles veer onto the road's shoulder rumble strips.

We stayed here in early spring and were able to enjoy the dogwood bloom. The campground was well maintained with the camp host at the entrance. They had wood and ice for sale. We stayed in the back loop which was a bit difficult for our 30 foot travel trailer to make the turn. It was difficult to find a level site with good Verizon coverage. The bath house was very clean as were the vault toilets. The sites closest to the road did have some road noise but those in the back were quiet.
