Island Bar Recreation Site in die Vereinigten Staaten

We headed here after checking out Shorts Bar a couple of miles west. This place is much better. Multiple large, level sites with good separation between. Several had fire pits and picnic tables.

This was a PERFECT boondocking spot for a couple nights - and we could've stayed longer. It is paved to the entrance, and then there is a bit of a tight turn to the left as you enter onto the bar. Then you have to bump over about 300 yards of river rock - not too difficult, as long as you go slowly. We set up on the far end beside a table & fire ring, near the sandy peninsula where you can swim in the Salmon River. It was so quiet and comfortable, and close to Riggins if you need gas or food. There were 6-8 other fire rings to choose from as well.
