Stop by the drive through lane for your pass. Many restaurants and stores right out of the park. Bathrooms were average. Electric and water were operational. Good hiking up the road at SARA, and there is a 2.4 mile trail in the park. Take the cheap ferry boat ($4/round trip) across the lake to the casino. Some power boat noise from the lake, but not bad. AT&T cell service was excellent, 5 bars of 5G. We didn't need the booster.

First time trying the state park as we have boondocked in Lake Havasu before. We had a nice site, easy access to water and to the London Bridge. A bit warm (late April) and lots of bugs, but we played in the water often to stay cool. Water and electric only, with a dump station and potable water (there is a sign) near the entrance of the park. We parked our semi in the overflow parking area, but the sites do allow your tow vehicle on it. Plan well ahead for reservations as this is a popular park to stay in. They are updating their reservation system which will hopefully be an improvement as I could not make a reservation online a year before and talked to someone to reserve. I do recommend this place, maybe earlier in the spring, fall and winter, unless you do not mind the heat as it is one of the hottest places in Arizona.

Initially, just needed a place to spend one night. You have to reserve about a year in advance for campground. Only had spots in overflow lot right next to beach. No hookups (don’t need them) but had showers, dump station and potable water. Ended up staying 4 nights. Excellent! Great town.

This is a very busy city area so there was no walk-in vacancies at the actual State Park campground. We did however stay in the overflow parking lot right at the beach and close to the kiosk. It was fine for us as an overnight rest stop, but you could tell by their set-ups that many RV'S were here for multiple nights. We would NOT like that at all. It's a parking lot...At least there were restrooms with hot showers very close by, yay...The winds can really howl in this parking lot and there is zero protection. We were glad to move on the next windy morning.

Traveling thru we stopped for a night boondocked in over flow right next to the beach. Big spaces first come first serve. We have 2 young kids they loved staying so close to the lake. The have a shower house and restroom but we didn’t use them.

Pros: Lots of space between RV's, the beach, the sites have BBQ grates, fire pits, picnic tables & covered areas, pretty sunsets & sunrises. I think the draw is proximity to Lake Havasu obviously and for people who swim or love walking along a beach. Cons: Very Noisy (street, jets & aircraft - 2am planes), no place to walk dogs other than streets and rock strewed roads, dismal (gross) bathrooms (think prison cells) absolutely no grass or park. Note if you have hounds like us: The campground is FULL of quail and rabbits which were a terrible distraction to our 2 hounds. Because you can only have dogs on the streets and they are rabbit-bush lined, it was a constant battle to keep them from hunting the critters that darted out in front of us while we walked.

Location on the lake in Town well maintained January weather in the 70s June around 110. Only downside is getting a reservation on the web site

Got a last minute reservation to stay here for 3 nights starting New Years Eve. After we got to the park we knew right away we wanted to stay longer. Luckily, we were able to piece together a total of 10 nights. We were in site 13, 1, and back to 13. No complaints about either site. The rangers and hosts take a lot of pride in this state park. They rake the rocks and keep it tidy. One of the few parks I actually see people cleaning the sites between campers. Sites were water & electric. They do have a dump station available along with potable water. In addition to the reservable sites they do have dry camping in an overflow lot for $25/night. That gives you access to the state park, bathrooms, showers, and dump station. Dump station alone is $15. Walking trail available in the park (they have signs up saying no bikes). Short walk to the channel and up to the village and the London Bridge. Verizon signal was OK. There were times that it was slow for basic internet searching. I would definitely stay here again. In my opinion, the only sites I would not want to stay in are 22 & 23. The only views that those 2 sites have are the overgrown shrubs.

This location is about 3.5 hours from our home and we didn’t know what to expect. The campground is gorgeous, clean, and well-maintained. We were in site 2, which was just a short walk to the lake. We were bringing our dogs and electric bikes, so we wanted to figure out the most efficient way to get to into town. We took a long walk on the first night and discovered that we could get to the old English Village, on foot, from the south end of the park. The sunsets were gorgeous and the lake is clear and beautiful.

We've been camping at this state park for years. Our favorite site is 3 & We've never had a problem with Reservations until this year. We had a Reservation for last fall, but had to cancel as I was in the hospital. This trip was to celebrate our 50th Anniversary & we were So looking forward to it. After a 6 hour drive we pulled up to our site & found it occupied! Back at the Check in we were told that we had Not reserved that site but one on the Cabin Loop! The explanation was that since our last visit the park had allowed campers to rent the rv spots Next To the Cabins, whereas 2 years ago these could only be rented along with a cabin rental! The site we wound up with was Not very satisfactory. Limitted lake views & little privacy. MORAL of the Story: You need to Specify Which Loop you are reserving- the Cabin Loop or the Main Loop!! Caveat Emptor!!

We originally were going to stay two days but stayed an extra day. Nice spaced out sites with water and electric. Showers are a little dated but acceptable. So much to do around Lake Havasu City. Swimming and beach was very nice with lots of rangers on hand so we felt very safe here. Beautiful sunsets! We will be back again.

What a great state park campground!. Clean, well maintained. grounds and sites. Spacious sites with nice picnic table and sun-cover. Acceptable bathrooms though I use my own bathroom most of the time. A short ride to London Bridge. AT water's edge with nearby boat launches. I saw many boats parked at sites with RVs. Good AT&T cell service. Some of the boats on the lake are noisy. Nights were quiet.

I stayed here for three nights. There are beaches there which are nice however dogs aren’t allowed at the actual beaches which is a bummer. Otherwise I felt safe, it was clean, and for 35 dollars (weekday price) I got water and electric (very important so I could run my AC due to 90 degree temps). There are okay showers available. Dump station available as well 🤍

Amazing place! We are in space three and it is very quiet here in March. We have a complete view of the water and would definitely come back, we loved our time here.

Easy access to the lake/beach if you want to put in a kayak or paddle board. Most sites offer little privacy but are good size. Close to bike trails, restaurants and shopping.

Incredibly quiet location, even though this is right near all of the London Bridge action. We were not here during boating season, so that quiet solitude would certainly change with boat traffic. What I also loved was the space between the sites. Sunsets were phenomenal.

It's very much in the city (although that has its benefits too). Great beach access for paddleboarding and you can go from here under London Bridge easily. Some algal blooms and careful to decontaminate afterwards as Lake Havasu has mussels. Great cell services. Nice trails to run or walk. Note that this lake attracts folks who love a throaty motor so if a quiet lake is what you're wanting, not the place.

Very nice stay. Great view of the lake; we were directly across from the swimming beach. Very close to town and London Bridge area. Many water toy rentals in the area. Boat launch in the State Park is right around the cove from our site; boats are out from dawn to dusk. Don’t expect quiet during the daytime hours; the boats do offer a great spectacle to watch. Quiet at night. Site amenities were fine; water, electric, picnic table, and fire ring. No WiFi; bring your own option. Good cell coverage. Nice dump station on the way out. Restrooms were tidy and clean, as was the campground. Campsites cleaned and raked in between use. Enjoyed our stay. Very reasonable rates. We’ll be back.

Was told right on the beach in cabin loop like some other reviewers. The cabins are right on the beach and the trailer or rv spots on that loop are less then 1 min walk. Not big deal during the week when it wasn’t so crowded. When the sun sets though be prepared to quickly get inside your rig because if there is any light even from a phone you will be swarmed by tiny little flying bugs. This is mid September so may be different other times of the year. but had door open for about 30 seconds and killed about 100 tiny bugs after it closed. They would cover the windows on outside of rv if we had blinds open. So blinds shut and turn lights off near door and no outside light ,quick in and out cured that issue.

So first of all we booked online in the Cabin camping loop and were told our spot was directly on the beach. Nope. So upon arrival at 10 am we thought we could just check in park and go swim. Nope. They require you pay the day use fee, so dont show up early to swim. The bathrooms were ok they have showers etc. They also have a drinking water fill station which is nice. Other wise just kinda ..meh. Dont fall for the cabin loop camping trick.

The Arizona State Park system is so good, it's hard to pick a favorite. But, if we had to, Lake Havasu would probably be at the top of the list for a couple of reasons. First, the park itself is top notch with easy access off of Hwy 95. Sites are big and level with plenty of space between your neighbors. Amenities include electric (30/50) & water at the site and a dump station with water near the "cabin loop." They've also recently rebuilt their bathrooms with the individual design concept (shower, toilet and sink in each room) and a nice dishwashing station at one end. There are several camping options here - premium lakefront on the outside, standard sites on the inside (most have lake views) and a dry camping/overflow area down by the marina (asphalt parking lot). They also recently added several cabins - each with a spot for an RV (including W/E hookups). The cabins look like a great option for larger families. There is one main room that has 2 bunk beds and a large counter with plug-ins. There is no kitchen, but you could bring a hot plate, coffee pot, etc. There is larger bed in a separate bedroom in the back. No bathrooms in the cabins, but there is a bathhouse in the center of the loop. There is no Wifi in the park, but we had good cell service - AT&T 157.4 down / 13.8 up and Verizon 42.4 down / 12.2 up. We had no problem with work apps or streaming. Our neighbors said they got more OTA channels than any other State Park. The second thing we like about this park is the town of Lake Havasu City. With the lake and the nearby foothills/mountains there are endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors (there is even a water toy rental shop on the premises). Also, there is a surprising food and entertainment scene for a town of its size. From Tavern 95 at the southend of town to Hangar 24 at the north end, lots of great food. Cha-Bones has a great 1/2 off appetizer menu for happy hour - including all day on Sunday - and is walking distance from the park (0.7 mile). For entertainment, don't miss the Flying X, Jermey's Juke Joint, or BJ's Catina (Sundays). An added plus is the number of festivals that happen throughout the year at the day use area adjacent to the campground. There was a Rock-a-billy festival during our stay and we could hear the bands from our spot. The park is sold out daily during the winter, so plan ahead or be okay with the asphalt overflow area.

Well, despite our good experiences in previous years, and the comments in other reviews below, we were turned away at LHSP twice; once, rudely! We called in advance that afternoon, and we were told "we are considering whether we open the overflow lot." That never happened, because we checked later that weekend, and the justification was that there was an event ten days later that needed the lot. On the other hand, while on the phone it was explained to us that if we were arriving near dark and just needed a night, they would find a way to accommodate us. But I guess if you plan ahead and call to inquire, you "have enough time to find another place to stay." It's a strange approach, although it was true. We returned to try to dump and fill our tanks (for $15, most of the price of an overflow night in the parking lot) on Monday at lunchtime and were rudely told, "the dump station is closed to outside users until 1:30." At that moment, the station had one camper in it and one lane open. We were told if we wanted to wait in their enormous, empty boat trailer lot for the hour that we would have to pay $25. The state park is great. The guy running the place is overwhelmed and needs to reassess how they apply policy versus reasonableness during the busy winter camping season in Arizona.

On short notice, we needed a safe place to park our 5th wheel so my husband could make an unexpected trip back to the east coast. Yes, there's lots of BLM camping near Lake Havasu, but no place I felt comfortable being alone with no transportation. At this time of year, January, every affordable RV park is fully booked. Lake Havasu SP overflow camping to the rescue! At $25/night for dry camping, it was a little pricey, but we were backed up to the lake with beautiful sunset views. The overflow camping is a large asphalt parking lot (2 spots = 1 site) and is close to the boat launch. No size restrictions. According to the ranger, the only time they have ever turned anyone away was during an event where the entire park was reserved, as was the case during the balloon festival. There is a lot of boat noise and exhaust, particularly on the weekend. But the location of the park, excellent showers, etc. made it great option. Rangers patrol the area numerous times per day.

This is a great place to stay. I had a campsite right on the beach with a great view of the lake. No WiFi but I had decent cellular service there. The only draw back I saw is that if you want peace and quiet, this might not be the place for you. At night was pretty quiet but during the day, it is not at all quiet. There was quite a lot of activity on the lake during the day and this is not even the busy time of the year for them. Overall a great place, just do not expect it to be really quiet.

This was a fantastic home base to attend the Lake Havasu Balloon Festival as the balloons set up in one of the parking lots in the state park. Luckily, someone cancelled a week before the festival and we were able to snag the best site in the park! Services were 20/30/50 amp electric, water, picnic table and fire ring. Site #36 is right on the beach, so they charge $5 extra. Dump station is available in the park. No WiFi, AT&T was 3 bars LTE and 50+ OTA TV channels. They had a 2.2 mile walking trail that went alongside the lake front. The only negative that we could find is that they do not have any recycling containers. We did find a public recycle station at Republic Services about 3 miles away. We would definitely stay here again!

We arrived on a Thursday with no reservations, but with the help of an awesome staff, we ended staying on for a total of 7 nights! We did have to move camp a couple of times, but loved it here so much we didn’t mind! It’s clean, well staffed, and you can’t beat the views and white sandy beaches! We didn’t use bathrooms or showers, but noticed they are building new ones currently. The location can’t be beat, just a couple minutes to town, two minutes to the London Bridge and other touristy stuff. There’s several boat rental places, and plenty of water to use them! Enjoy!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t enjoy about this park. Beautiful area right on the water. We camped in the mid section but still had a view of the water. Close walk to the beach area. Picnic tables on the beach where we watched the sun set behind the mountains at the back side of the lake. Dump station as you come in/leave the park. Site had electric and water. Dumpsters throughout the park. Very friendly staff. Did not want to leave. My fav park so far.
